Chairman

Mr. Viney Sagar Sahgal

He is a Mechanical Engineer from IRIMEE, Jamalpur . He was the founder and owner of the largest surgical needle manufacturer(Quality Needles Pvt.Ltd.) across the globe with ~15% market share by volume . Quality Needles Pvt. Ltd. which manufactures surgical sutures needles and exports to markets of USA, UK, Germany, Belgium, Brazil Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Thailand, Viet Nam, and South Africa.

Under the Corporate Social Reasonability Mr. Sahgal’s company was working for :

  • Eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, ‘‘promoting health care including preventive health care’’
  • Promoting education, including special education and employment enhancing vocation skills especially among children, women, elderly and the differently abled and livelihood enhancement projects.
  • Empowering women, setting up homes and hostels for women and orphans; setting up old age homes, day care centres and such other facilities for senior citizens and measures for reducing inequalities faced by socially and economically backward groups etc.

Incorporated by Mr. Sahgal’s experience in the business and strong technical background it was beneficial in ensuring cost efficiencies as well as generating repeat export business in the company. He has recently sold his stake to TPG Private Equity.

Founder and CEO

Gulshan Baweja

Gulshan Baweja, Founder and CEO, of YUVA Healthcare, Institute of Advanced Skills, in Technical collaboration with Partners Medical International based out of Boston, has the vision to elevate the profession of Nursing and Allied healthcare Professionals.

Has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare sector. He has been extensively engaged in Strategic Planning, Facility Planning, Operations, Commissioning of Hospitals and Healthcare education projects in South Asia. A Healthcare Management Graduate, from Indian Institute Health Management Research, Jaipur and an Alumnus of Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

Has been actively involved in the policy development for Public Private Partnership in healthcare delivery and education, as member of National Committee of Healthcare and PPP, under aegis of Confederation of India Industry, CII, and National Skill Development Council.

In his previous assignments, managed a broad range of projects, advising Multilateral Funding and Development Agencies, Private Equity Firms and Corporates for Strategic Planning, Project implementation and Investment.

His executive education includes –Health Emergencies in Large Population, HELP, Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Private Equity Programme at Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, Healthcare Design, organized by American Institute of Architects, AIA & Centre for Healthcare Design.

He got Full Scholarship from J&J Foundation, to participate in Innovating Health for Tomorrow Program at INSEAD, Business School, Fontainebleau.

Cofounder

Dr. Ashvin N. Pande

A graduate of Harvard College and Duke University School of Medicine, He has completed post-graduate training in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, and interventional cardiology at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Ashvin is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine and Attending Physician at Boston Medical Center where he is Director of Invasive Cardiology and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and oversees quality, performance, and medical education in the interventional cardiology section.

He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and endovascular medicine. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions

Mrs. Kumkum Tandon

Following her graduation from Lady Sri Ram College, Kumkum Tandon became interested in theater and did stage plays in leading roles while also giving talks and doing plays on radio from 1965 through 1969. In the early 1970s, she did stage plays to collect funds for Mahila Samriti, a social organization for the betterment of the staff of Railways, when her husband was posted in Lucknow in Railways. Starting in the late 1980s and through the early 2000s, Kumkum Tandon worked for Derek O’Brien as a chief coordinator for the entire Western Zone Cadbury Bournvita Quiz Contest. Her role included visiting schools and coordinating and organizing quiz competitions across Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Her husband, late Mr. Dinesh Kumar Tandon, has been associated with YUVA Healthcare from its inception and was most recently appointed as chairman of the group. He was passionate about the project and Kumkum Tandon wants to carry his vision to see this institution make a significant impact in the healthcare of the country by creating highly skilled nurses, technicians and other healthcare workers to meet with the increasing demand of using sophisticated technology in the present day medical facilities.

Given her wide ranging experiences, Kumkum Tandon brings strong organizational and communication skills that will be invaluable in her role as a director of YUVA Healthcare.

Advisory Board

Mr. Anup Singh

Mr. Anup Singh had a 42 year career with ITC and was on the Board for 13 years. He was appointed to the Board of ITC as Executive Director in November 1997 and held overall responsibility of ITC’s FMCG businesses; Agribusinesses; Infotech; R&D; Environment Health and Safety and ITC’s Nepal subsidiary, SNPL.

He was a key player in the establishment of the Foods, Personal Care, and Wills Lifestyle businesses and transforming ITC to become a significant player in the FMCG sector.

He has been the President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata (2004), the President of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata (2009).

He has a B Tech(Hons) degree from IIT Kharagpur in Electrical Engineering

Dr. S.D.Gupta

Dr. S. D. Gupta ,DIRECTOR, Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) has obtained MD in Preventive & Social Medicine and PhD in Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University. He is a public health expert with a distinguished academic and research career.

He has been awarded FAMS by the National Academy of Medical Science for his outstanding contribution in the field of public health. He is a fellow of Indian Association of Preventive & Social Medicine, and a long-term member of the International Epidemiological Association.

He has published several research papers and reports. He has been associated in various capacities with several national and international research and academic organizations.

He has chaired several scientific and other committees and served as temporary advisor to WHO Scientific Working Group on Research Information Management.
